Kansas City’s Power & Light District has been packed with music fans all summer looking for a reprieve from the heat with good music and a cold beer. Canada’s Metric was the latest band to join in the free music summer series in the entertainment district with San Francisco’s Panic Is Perfect opening.
The annual ACL Festival in Austin, Texas, maybe one of the latter festivals to get in on the game in 2013, but its dual weekend lineup has proven to be one of the more unique and variety-filled options of the festival season. This year’s headliners include new wave acts such as Depeche Mode & The Cure, folkier acts such as Wilco, and big rock acts such as Muse, Kings of Leon and Thom Yorke’s other non-Radionhead band, Atoms for Peace.
Kanrocksas has revealed its 2013 lineup. Kendrick Lamar, Tiesto & Avett Brothers had previously been announced, but now Yeah Yeah Yeahs, fun., MGMT, Passion Pit & more join the 60+ lineup.

It’s already time to start thinking about summer music festivals and one worth adding to your list is Dover’s Firefly Festival. The Delaware 3-day festival revealed its 2013 lineup today.
Over 60 bands are playing this year’s Middle of the Map festival. Alongside Kansas City local veterans such as The Appleseed Cast and the Casket Lottery are national acts Grizzly Bear, The Joy Formidable, Tennis, Deerhoof, JEFF the Brotherhood and more.
For the first time ever, Bonnaroo is announcing its lineup LIVE on its Bonnaroo 360 YouTube channel. Hosting the event is comedian/musician Weird Al.
