Fall Out Boy, Blink-182 and mystery act headlining Chicago’s 2013 Riot Fest

Posted on 16 May 2013 by Bethany Smith

Chicago’s Riot Fest has revealed its 2013 lineup and local punk rock heroes Fall Out Boy are one of the headliners. Joining them as headliners are fellow pop punk act Blink-182 and another headliner that’s yet to be revealed (judging by poster question mark counts, we’re guessing Jimmy Eat World).

Also playing are bands such as Violent Femmes, Bad Books, AFI, Taking Back Sunday, Glassjaw, Yellowcard, Mission to Burma, Blondie, Guided By Voices, Peter Hook (performing Joy Division) and more. While many of these bands have been touring for ages or are reunited after long hiatuses, there are also of plenty newcomers to the fest such as the astounding trio of brothers from St. Joseph, MO in Radkey.

The festival is set for September 13-15 in Chicago’s Humboldt Park. Tickets are available now from Ticketfly.

Weird Al to announce Bonnaroo lineup during 3-hour YouTube extravaganza

Posted on 03 February 2013 by Bethany Smith

For the first time ever, Bonnaroo is announcing its lineup LIVE on its Bonnaroo 360 YouTube channel. Hosting the event is comedian/musician Weird Al.

Weird Al’s portion of the announcement event will only account for a third of the 3-hour program as the full event promises to include not only the lineup, but classic performance video and live in-studio appearances. It also promises to be interactive for viewers, so be sure to tune for the chance at some special Bonnaroo giveaways. With Weird Al doing the announcement in touring this year, we can strongly speculate that he’ll also be at this year’s Bonnaroo. Of course, we’ll have to watch the announcement for confirmation.

The official date and time for the lineup announcement event has yet to be released, but for now, you can watch the teaser video and subscribe to the Bonnaroo YouTube channel.

Bonnaroo 2013 is June 13-16 in Manchester, TN.
