Halloween’s not for a few more weeks, but Kansas City started their celebration early.
Though the Noise FM moved to Chicago a few year’s ago, they always return home to the Kansas City/Lawrence area for the holidays. And when they do, they get into the holiday spirit with a special benefit concert cleverly dubbed “Noise for Toys.” Usually, this event takes place in Lawrence, but for the first time, the Noise FM is bringing Noise for Toys to Kansas City.
Influential indie punk band The Replacements reunited for their first show in 22 years at Toronto’s Riot Fest. The band played a 23-song set and is preparing for two more reunion shows at the upcoming Riot Fests in Chicago in Denver.

The Rufus Wainwright show at the Vic Theater in Chicago can probably be described as a religious experience. The lights are off and the this turn of the century building is sitting in an apprehensive silence. Out of the darkness a voice starts singing, “I’ve tried to do what I can, but the churches have run out of candles.” Church has begun and the choirs are singing.
