Interview: Robert Delong on touring and Hulkamania

Named a 2013 Artist to Watch by Billboard and MTV, Robert DeLong has taken the music scene by storm since releasing his debut album, Just Movement, in February of this year. He’s already played almost every major music festival in the U.S. (including Coachella and multiple shows at SXSW) and completely refined the EDM category by blending dance elements with heavy drum influence, introspective lyrics and manipulated game controllers.

Midcoast Station was fortunate enough to interview Robert between shows and talk touring, signing with Glassnote, and his quest to meet Hulk Hogan.

We all know that when it comes to books, movies, songs – the list could go on and on – nothing beats the original. After hearing a horrible rendition of “Landslide” on The X Factor, I wondered, how many people have covered this song? – better yet, who has actually done it justice? Not counting the no names on YouTube, there’s quite the list of popular performers who have covered “Landslide,” and some covers are surprisingly good; some are a bit more interesting.

I have a love-hate relationship with Netflix. I love the price (much cheaper than cable); I love that it gave me seasons 1-6 of “The Office,” which I watched in its entirety before it was yanked from my queue; and I love watching movies I would never actually pay for individually, some … utterly embarrassing. Here are a couple of my recommendations available on Netflix right now.

You may find “The Hunger Games” in the “Young Adult” section of the bookstore (or more likely, your e-reader), but don’t be fooled – this is not your typical teen novel.

There’s no democracy, no food, and teenagers are forced to kill each other while everyone else watches. Not exactly sexy vampires, eh?
