Yellowcard’s fans hugged each other close and not just because it was unseasonably chilly for a Texas “autumn.” Tonight, everyone at Austin’s Historic Scoot Inn was inching closer to their friends and fan-family as they celebrated the bittersweet ending of an era.

This weekend, Gangster Squad hits theaters with an all-star cast that includes Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, and Giovanni Ribisi. From the previews, I could already tell that while this movie may not come within a mile of any Oscar nominations, it definitely takes you on a thrill ride. After seeing it, […]
This Christmas, moviegoers are presented with a few solid options opening in theaters: Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained”, the film adaptation of “Les Misérables”, and “Parental Guidance”. One might think, “Hmm…one of these things is not like the others.” But while “Parental Guidance” might not be the epic musical masterpiece that “Les Mis” promises to be; […]
The opening scene of Joseph Gordon Levitt’s new movie, “Premium Rush,” is of him slowly flying through the air and landing with a crash on the pavement. What follows is a 90-minute thrill ride that is not the best ride I’ve been on, but certainly not the worst.
Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks have a new movie out Today, “People Like Us”. And while it’s not the worst movie I’ve ever seen, it’s absolutely nowhere near the best. Chris Pine plays Sam, who, when we first meet him, seems to have everything going for him. He works facilitating barters and in the opening […]

Not only is the man a comical genius in the television […]

A movie about male strippers starring Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey? Something told me not to take this one too seriously. Oddly enough, (I mean, who could have seen this coming?) it was a great idea to not go into the theater expecting much of anything, because boy, oh boy, not much of anything is exactly what I got out of it.
When women give their lists of the hottest male actors under 25, you can bet Zac Efron will be found on most. But being pretty alone does not carry much weight, both in the case of Zac and of his newest flick, the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ romantic novel “The Lucky One”.
When it comes to “The Descendants,” I’ll save you the guessing game: SEE IT. George Clooney, as Matt King, puts out one of his best performances, and in a role that is so unlike everything we’ve seen from him in the last several years.
