Fall Out Boy ends 2-year break; releasing new album, touring

| February 4, 2013 | 0 Comments

Well, folks, this might be the takeover because the break’s over. Chicago pop punk group Fall Out Boy are back together making new music and touring after a 2-year hiatus that left the band’s future in question for many. fall out boy reunite

The band posted this statement on their website:

when we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. its why we started fall out boy in the first place. this isn’t a reunion because we never broke up. we needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us.

the future of fall out boy starts now.

So it isn’t really a reunion, but nonetheless, for a lot of fans, this is a welcome announcement. The band members have spent the last few years working on some side projects, getting married and simply living life without a word on Fall Out Boy. Now, the band has confirmed a new album, Save Rock and Roll, and a tour.

Save Rock and Roll is out May 6, 2013. You can preorder it here. The band have also announced tour dates (below), including a show in Chicago tonight, Feb. 4.

You can also check out a new tune [2 Chainz Edition] from Fall Out Boy in the video below. Download the original track here. This is “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up) [2 Chainz Edition]“…glad to see the band’s practice of titling songs super long with a tongue in cheek phrase hasn’t changed.
