Counting Crows stopped in Kansas City at Starlight Theater as part of their Outlaw Roadshow tour with Field Report and Kasey Anderson & the Honkies.

Counting Crows is touring in support of their recently released covers album, Underwater Sunshine (we’re giving it away here), so the set predominantly featured songs from that release. But they still played a nice mix from all six of their studio albums. Some of the more standout moments came with the songs from earlier in the band’s career such as the extended version of “Round Here,” which lasted close to ten minutes.

Openers Field Report delivered a chilled set of harmonious indie folk rock that fans of Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver are sure to enjoy. On the other side of the folk spectrum was Kasey Anderson & the Honkies. They were a bit closer to traditional country folk rock with plenty of guitar slides and gravelly vocals.
