The Gaslight Anthem plays with humbling excitement for Lawrence, Kan.
The Gaslight Anthem’s sold out Lawrence, Kansas outing at the Bottleneck was not only heartfelt and genuine, but helped spring board their new album Handwritten right through the Bottleneck’s roof!
I’ll put it to you this way. I haven’t seen the Bottleneck with THAT much genuine energy in a long time. Each and every fan seemed to be all different ages, ranging from middle teens to early 50s. It was an amazing feeling to see that type of band come through this particular venue, which has such a rich local history, and perform with such humbling excitement to such a diverse crowd.
The Gaslight Anthem whose home base is New Brunswick, New Jersey, has really captured a universal good time feeling that early rock and roll pioneers like Buddy Holly and Bruce Springsteen really nailed home in their primes. Brian Fallon and Co. came straight out of the gate with high energy and marinated the crowd with their heartfelt reminiscing’s of past love, friendships, and future hopes.
Their new major label debut, Handwritten, will be released July 24 on Mercury Records and I highly recommend you pick up a copy.
