Fun.’s been taking over this past year and deservedly so. Milwaukee’s Summerfest got a firsthand taste of what all the fun. fuss is about when the indie rockers tookover the Miller Lite Oasis Stage.
Fun. regaled the audience with its upbeat anthems. Lead singer Nate Ruess was all smiles jumping around the stage, while fellow bandmates struck their own entertaining poses. The group looked like they were having just as much fun as every member of the audience.
The band played hits from their breakthrough album Some Nights, which of course included the ubiquitious “We Are Young.” Fun. even invited opening act Minitaure Tigers out on stage for a song. They also played several songs from their debut album, including the charming “The Gambler” which brought couples in the audience closer together even despite the heat. As an extra surprise, the band even through in a cover song that had everyone singing along.
It was a performance true to the band’s name and one that was sure to have Summerfest goers at other stages envious to have missed out on.
Fun. will be in Kansas City, August 8 for Buzz Under The Stars. Join Midcoast Station at the event!
