Fitz & the Tantrums heat up Kansas City

Despite the the already high temperature, LA band Fitz and the Tantrums raised the thermometer a few more degrees, wowing the small but enthusiastic crowd with their soulful indie pop. The energetic performances by Noelle Scaggs and Michael Fitzpatrick were non-stop and the electric chemistry between the two kept everyone enthralled.

The hour-twenty minute set included songs from their forthcoming album which they finished just four days ago and is due out in October. In addition to original tracks, they performed covers of The Raconteurs’ “Steady As She Goes” and a jazzy version of Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams.”

The group is known for spending time with their fans after the show, signing autographs and posing for pictures, however tonight their tight schedule prevented them from doing so. Even so, the crowd left happy, having seen a superb, if not a little short show. If you missed them last night, do yourself a favor and be sure to catch them next time they’re in town.
